Kiddies Couch Cover

Finally finished the couch cover for the little one. WAY bigger job than I thought it was going to be. I think it's taken around a month (I put it down to sew a baby quilt in the middle) and I don't know what possessed me to make it as a patchwork. Overall I'm happy with it. It's a bit puckered where the arms meet the backrest but I had no idea how to sew those weird corners and it works so who cares. I'm not likely to make another of these again, I just wanted a spare for when the little one spills things on it. And yeah I could have bought one but where's the fun in that?

Beginnings

I've been thinking about doing this for a while but blogging is so common that I felt like a sheep. So why now? Motivation...for me that is. Originally I wanted to make a scrapbook of my craft things but nothing usually makes it past piles of scrap pieces of paper with lots of ideas. See, I'm the kind of person who buys all the gear, prints pics, has page layouts organised - all ready to go but can't be bothered in the end to actually sit down and put it together. How will this be any different? Well....it might not, we'll see.

So to introduce myself....I'm a SAHM with one cheeky angel and another on the way and a hubby whom I adore. In my old life I was a scientist - not sure if I'll be able to go back to that which would be a shame coz I loved my last job but I'm loving what I'm doing right now even more and I wouldn't change it for the world. And the reason for this blog - I'm into any craft that sparks my imagination. I knit, sew and stitch all the time, crochet every now and then, and even paint and woodwork on occasion. In addition, I love to garden and cook. And the common theme - creation. I love creating things with my mind and then making them with my hands.

So here I go, off to pasture. Wish me luck.
